This is a simple statement, but often advice isn’t asked for.
Is it our pride, our determination to do things our own way? Maybe you’ve said to a friend “I need advice” and they either judged you or told you exactly what you wanted to hear, which really didn’t do you any good.
I think its extremely beneficial to seek out the advice of others and learn from each other’s wisdom. Often when we follow other’s advice we save ourselves from unneeded much heartache. Although, it’s important to be able to weed out good advice from the not so good. Friends, I’ve found, are often biased when I tell them that I need advice. They may try to tickle my ears or not tell me the truth in fear of hurting my feelings.
Often the best advice is from a non-biased third party who can objectively look at both sides of an issue and shoot it to you straight. So if you’re looking for that type of advice use the Ask a Counselor feature and I’ll be happy to give you my honest non-biased opinion.
You will not be judged and the advice that I give you has the potential to help other people who read about your situation on Guidance 2 Live. What’s more, you can remain anonymous if it’s a touchy or embarrassing situation. You have a safe place to say “I need advice”.
